BestPractice 27 The training centre, which has been built there, contains state-of-the-art laboratories, as well as rooms for seminars, conferences and lectures. The trainees each have several training systems for hydraulics, pneumatics, electrical drives and controls, as well as mechatronics and robot technology at their disposal. The modularly structured training systems use industrial series-produced components with interna- tionally standardised programming languages and open interfaces, which are also used daily in industry. Together with the exercise and project manuals, they set the basis for providing the students with technical know-how and solution competence, in a practically-oriented and hands-on way. Each year, students from a wide variety of faculties receive education and further training under real-world conditions at the centre. Bosch Rexroth has trained the instructors of the university on-site in Mysore and in Würzburg, Germany, at the Drive & Control Academy headquarter. The certified trainer education programme guarantees that instructors receive a high-quality and lasting education. After this, they also belong to the worldwide company trainer network and can regularly participate in further training courses within the “Train-the-trainer” programme, in order to remain up-to-date. The VTU Bosch Rexroth Centre of Excellence in India is just one example of the diverse involvement of the drive and control specialists in education and further training. The Drive & Control Academy from Bosch Rexroth has imple- mented a wide range of training concepts in many other countries with numerous universities and educational institu- tions. They are all united by the fact that they are always tailored to the special needs of the project partner.
